BTCC 2015

Brands is my closest but I'm off to Sweden just after so I need to save my money for that. I'll hope to be at the season finale but I do prefer the Indy layout as you can see everything. Usually I enter the Dunlop comps. So far I've won twice. I think expecting a 3rd win in 4 years maybe asking a little too much!

Looks like the Super Touring Cars will be at Rockingham this year. I did enjoy seeing them on TV last season.

Another options is to look at the timetable that's published on the main site then tune in to itv4 or an hour later on itv4+1. They run mostly on time. Lots of testing going on at the mo but we won't get a timed test till media day on the 24th at donnington. I can see the MGs wanting to send a statement.

MG will be running the MG6 again but new colour scheme as Plate has moved to BMR.

They wanted to use the tourer for two reason. Honda wanted to advertise the new car, and they though it would provide more straightline speed. They had the IVTEC engine for the first time last year so that was being developed. Matt Neal had a shocker of a season so I expect he'll be on the pace this year providing they don't have any new new car teething issues.

The Merc was Adam Morgan whose family run Ciceley Racing team who has sponsors from WIX hence the yellow. They're the same this year but Aidan Moffat has made the swap from a chevvy cruze to the Merc that's been prepped by Ciceley for him and they're working together. He's got the best looking livery with his laser tools sponsorship I've seen so far this year but most of them will release them on media day.

The audi was Rob Austin Racing who is now more orange and black (hes used to have the WIX sponsorship but now has Exocet now as his main) runs a pair of A4's. They're a fan favourite but i think the new rules to slow down the rear wheel drive cars may hurt him the most.

Other big chances are the BMW's have lost the eBay sponsorship and its not been confirmed but I don't think tesco's are doing any backing this year. Last year the MG manufactures team had a mouthful of a title "MG KX Clubcard Fuel Save".

We've got a new manufacture backing this year in the form of Infiniti who are fun by Support Our Para's (Red Bull did some good stuff today for that team http://www.btcc.net/2015/03/18/infiniti-teams-join-forces-for-the-day/ ).
Other big moves are Motorbase who run the ford focus will not be out till half way into the season due to not finding a title sponsor. United Autosports will not be running, PowerMaxx just sponsored a team last year, this year they've purchased that team and are running two chevvy cruzes. Going to be another good looking grid thats for sure!

Nicholas Hamilton officially joins the 2015 ‪#‎BTCC‬ grid racing for AmD Tuning
They'll be running the Audi S3 for 5 rounds as a Guest (aka cannot score points in the championship).

And I have to agree Skeeter with the Gird for race 2. But time will tell if its a great idea or not. Personally I think 2nd fastest time from Quali would be a better idea but I guess with the number of laps that will get removed for track limits (especially at brands hatch) that could have made an interesting grid.

The grid for race 2 at each event will be set in the order of the fastest lap times achieved in race 1. If during race 1 a driver changes one or more tyres of the same type then any quicker lap time (if achieved) after that tyre change will be discounted.

That. But if you get a puncture on the 1st lap and limp home you may as well retire the car. I would prefer say 80% of the race has been completed on the tyre that way your weekend isn't a total waste if you get unlucky with a puncture or damage.

Time Table is here for this weekend:
http://www.btcc.net/calendar/brands-hatch-indy/

Key ones are today Quali is at 15.40.
You can watch it live on the itv site. itv.com/btcc (due to start at 15.30).
Sunday
Race 1 - 11.47
Race 2 - 14.17
Race 3 - 17.12

Timing results are here: http://www.tsl-timing.com/event/151403
17 cars for the GT4 Supercup i think is the smallest grid on the package. Will know more once theye've all done quali. 19 cars currently running for formula ford quali.

Argh! Why does my GF always invite people to stay when there's racing on!

She knows its a race weekend and wants to stop you! I'll be using the Freesat recorder myself. On the plus side I get to fast forward adverts on Sunday night/Monday.

Thruxton tomorrow. Times for the 3 races:
12.12 Round 7
14.32 Round 8
17.17 Round 9

They're using the hard tyre all weekend due to the abrasiveness of the track and the high speed.

good racing again. especially from the kids Sophia Floersch holding off Monger and co was pretty exciting. Granted the comms team got a little over excited.

Due to the length of the show that's on Sunday it doesn't go onto itv player. then after that the only option is the highlights.
ITV have dropped the ball. when you look for even Motorsport UK its clearly a copy and paste job on the description. As they all say brands. the latest episode is Donnington and thats just the support races anyway. BTCC Youtube channel has 3 races packed into 8mins.
http://www.itv.com/btcc/races/thruxton-may-9th-and-10th

That took some digging to find that link. But you can see the whole race by the looks of it. At least the video is 30mins long at least for the 2nd btcc race and all the support races are listed also.
