One must admit, Vauxhalls VXR range is sure a decent looking range of vehicles. Whats the deal with those purple Astras? I've never seen those before.

I'd love to be part of a club.

Should be able to top this at Rockingham next weekend. We're looking at anything from 2-400 MR2's (Currently got 455 names down but no idea how many will actually show up.) which they're planning to park colour coordinated. Then we're going out on the track to set a world record for most MR2's in Convoy.

http://www.mr2worldrecord.co.uk/ (The website's actually a bit rubbish, most of the info is on various owners club forums :p)

It'll be £15 on the gate, £7.50 if you get them in advance using the details on the record attempt website. Not sure if advance sales are still available though, prob best to phone up and check. Price includes the days racing, we're doing the record attempt during the lunch break.

Gonna be some MK1.5s and mk1.6s and mk2.6s there :D

anyone wanna buy me a plane ticket? :p

I thought so too but looked it up and apparently only 189bhp? Surely not, any Vauxhall not able to confirm?

I always thought they were mechanically just a standard Astra Coupe Turbo, but with extra bits stuck onto the outside? That power figure sounds about right if that's the case.

And is there anyone else in the world who keeps trying to fit into the owners scene for a car in a country 3000 miles away? :p

Well i thought it was odd wanting a plane ticket for an event about MR2s when he doesn't actually own one but each to their own :p

Can you explain these to me? I only ever hear MR2s described in this way by you!

mk1.5 is the name given to a mk1 with a mk2 turbo engine installed.
from that I'd assume that a mk1.6 is a mk1 with the camry 3.0 V6 and a mk2.6 will be a mk2 with the same engine.
