Btx psu ? work with ATx motherboard ??

can i use my dell 750w sli psu with an atx motherboard heres the 750w psu spec, i dont know much about psu lol

All the cables will fit and the psu itself should fit into the case, if the screw holes are in the exact same place (most dells I've worked on atx psu just a straight swap.)

Only thing is dunno how decent a quality dell psu's are, maybe worth checking the rails.

i have no idea what rails are tbh
 
You'd need to do some rewiring.

The 24pin connector is standard but 20pin one isn't.

The 20pin connector exists in place of the normal 4pin/8pin additional power connector that goes to the motherboard. You'd need to do some cutting and splicing to create the required 4pin/8pin connector.

If this is for an upgrade on an existing XPS 720 machine I think you'd be better off selling it as a complete or barebones machine and then building another with the proceeds.
