Story

Dizzy and the Yolkfolk have decided they need a holiday, and set sail in a boat, bound for Illusion Island. Halfway there however, their small boat is boarded by pirates! With nothing to defend them, Dizzy and the Yolkfolk are taken prisoner aboard the pirate ship, and when Dizzy starts telling pirate jokes to his guards, Captain Blackeye hauls him above deck, and makes poor Dizzy walk the plank!

Just as Dizzy falls off the edge into the ocean, he spies Illusion Island off in the distance, and as he slowly sinks to the bottom of the ocean caverns, he knows his only hope of making it to dry land is to get to the surface fast!

Gameplay

The object of the game is to score as many points as possible, while getting to the top of each cavern before your air runs out!

Avoid the baddies and ride the bubbles, but not for too long! They will pop after a while. Rest on the ledges until another bubble comes along that you can ride.

This game can be very fast paced at times, so try to keep your wits about you.

Some tips to help you:

--Collecting pearls gives you points.
--Collecting all the Pearls in a cavern will give you a bonus at the end.
--Colliding with baddies decreases your score and your air.
--The more air you have left when you complete the level, the more score you will get for completing it.
--The amount of rooms in the caverns increases the further you get through the game.
--The further you get in the game, the more points you will get for collecting pearls and completing a cavern.
--There is a save game option at the end of every third level.

Some of the highscores may seem unreachable, but in later levels the points can really start to build up, so keep at it!

Remember the original (and this certainly looks like it).

Dizzy games used to be superb - £1.99 and several days of entertainment and frustration combined into one!

I definately prefer the adventure games to the arcade games (Dizzy Down the Rapids was okay / Kwik Snax / et al). Must get the old C64 going tonight!
