Got it all working and came to get the bubbles out only to find that more appear, after about 1 minute the entire water system is white because of the amount of tiny bubbles. Im thinking its the pumps speed its a ddc ultra alphacool with 8/10mm hose, dtek fuzion and a 120.2 nexxos rad. All i have in the water is some zalman coolent and a tiny amount of uv dye.

Edit: Its like this the strange thing is im using the same res, i might try putting some sponge in as well seems to work.

hi robj20,

By the sound of that there is a small leak or pin sized hole. As if the small bubbles keep forming then the pump might be sucking in air from outside or through a hole somewhere

There are no holes i made sure of that with a pressure test before i filled it with water. From what i can find it sounds like it the water turbulance in the bayres.

Is the res full?

Leave the top open for a while and top it up if the water level starts falling as the bubbles escape.

It might take a while, but the foam should die down.

The res is full, cant leave it open or there will be water everywhere, the water comes flowing very fast into the res it would be like a fountain.

i presume you did the usual by turning the case around/ over etc to try to work all bubbles out

Sounds like the voice of experience.... ;)

Its like this when its running.

Thats not my system but thats what the water looks like.

turn it off and turn the case upside down etc and see if there are any bubbles etc. Try to move the case around to work the bubbles out into the rad then bleed them off.

the bubbles come out as soon as the system is off, its the loop that is making the foam.

Reservoir is most likely too shallow, and blocks not causing enough restriction so that air is just being sucked back into the system instead of surfacing in the reservoir.

I will try putting some sponge in the res to slow it down, it seems to have worked for some people. It does seem like the water is flowing to fast and creating turbulance.

If you have ran it for 24hrs with the sponge in place and you're still getting air bubbles it could be air getting in at a loose connection.

No soap, and there is definitely not an air leak, i have a pressure tester so hooked that up put a bit of pressure in the system and there was no loss after 24 hours. Thanks for all the help.

Threads all sealed up with an 0-ring if pre fitted or PTFE tape about 5 wraps i find is safe!

Can add restiction with cable ties on the outlet of the pump!

Have you let it run as an open system which helps bleed

Drain it and flush it out. Use distilled only at first then add each additive to see which one is making the bubbles.

I had a similar issue a few years ago using the res below:

The "growth" inside is a piece of sponge to slow the inlet into the res from hitting the tiny air pocket at the top and making micro bubbles that were drawn back into the loop.
