Hey,

Long time no see motor guys. :D

I need some advice with my bodywork. Both front wings paint have started to bubble..(Will post pics tomo afternoon)

Also the rears rim have rusted but i'm going to wire brush them and the apply kurust then silver smooth hammerite...

What do I do on the fronts?

Not into spending over £750 in what I was quoted for all of it by a body repair specialist...(cheap I know) but dead money in terms of the age of the car and mileage.

Just want to "check" the problem areas out really without my car looking ****

Thanks:)

What model do you have? I am guessing E46?

If that's the case then the only real cure is 2 new wings. Idiots will grind it back on the face of it. Half decent will grind it back all the way around the lip. Pros will replace the wing.

Nope, nothing to do with your 'air.'

Just an utterly poor design. New wings it if it's a long term car. If not then you may get away with a proper grind and a warranty on the work.

You could risk a pattern wing..

Depends honestly how much you care about this car, what colour is it?

Pattern wings are very hit and miss, can be rubbish fits or amazing fits..

Or you could get 2 used wings from a later E46 and properly grind them down and paint them.

I would definitely not get a pattern part - it is very difficult to find one that fits properly.

Could try a breaker - it's a common enough colour.

New wings are the best cure, it isn't thousands to get done. This is sadly very common on the E46 and oddly silver seems most prone to it.

The wings just bolt on, biggest expense is getting them painted.

Do like the idea of the wings though although only one is in stock...anyone give me the part number for the passenger side wing?

can you tell me exactly what is wrong with grinding all the rot out, treating the rust and giving a quick skim of filler?
