I would.

No problems here. We can't have old Lizzy living in sub-standard accommodation! :p

60+ years since last refurbishment, and related toruism/trade revenue from the Monarchy will more than pay for it!

It's pennies compared to the Westminster bill.

I'd donate the palace is beautiful and a good money maker. I'd donate for Westminster if the MPs moved out. Such a wasted building.

First it was the houses of parliament now the palace wants a £150 million refurb. How many people here would actually willingly donate money to this if you had a choice (which you don't)?

I try and look beyond The Royal Family. Buckingham Palace is a national landmark really, and pulls in thousands upon thousands of tourists and domestic visitors over any given year - even more so when parades like Trooping the Colour are on.

I don't really see it as the Queen getting a refurbished house. I see it more like maintaining a national icon, and allowing it to continue bringing in tourists and visitors long after HRH is dead and buried.

I would. A family representing our country that spends most of it's time working for charitable causes, diplomatic relations, and serving in the armed forces, better them than that shower in parliament.

Don't underestimate the tourist draw either....it's amazing living all over the world how big a deal the British royal family is....the chinese in particular lap it up, and come over and spend absurd sums of money in our shops.

I'm not wholly ideologically supportive of monarchies but, in reality, I think we get good value out of ours. They're a halo product for the UK in general, and a useful political tool, internationally.

Part of keeping that halo effect going is maintaining the supporting cast of that monarchy: the palaces, the pomp and the ceremony.

I'm ok with spending what is necessary, though the process and costs should be audited for reasonableness.

Last redecorated in the 1950's, Can't say they are expecting too much can we, I would guess that the Palace has drawn more than its fair share of tourists into London and the UK. The Palace has worked hard enough to earn a bit of TLC.

We can't have the Queen living in a run down council house. :p The refurb is worth every penny. Maybe we should be trying for an EU grant, don't they farm something in the grounds...

With what money!?!!?!? Thought we had none in the country with all the cuts going on?!?!!?

Things that make money tend to cost some money upfront. Speculate to accumulate.

You spend the money in the knowledge that you will be better off in the long run. I would argue that perhaps they should have been spending the money earlier and more regularly and possibly make a small saving?

That only applies to welfare spending, it's completely different when it relates to the rich. It's almost like the cuts are ideological in nature rather than economic, ho hum.

I'm all for it, it's a British landmark, no different than maintaining the various other estates and landmarks around the Country that provide a link to our national heritage.
