Budget 2500K First Time Build

Looks like a good build. I love how you used your budget very wisely. :) Reminds me of myself :D

EDIT:
What camera did you use to click the pictures? I love the shots :)

Thanks. It's a 40D with a fairly decent lens. They pics are ok, but when I get a decent case in the summer, I'll take some much better photos.

Silencer is available from the gun shop in the chinese brothel in Shanghai (and also from a shop in a flat in detroit- if you save the woman hostage on first level, her husband will tell where it is and how to get a discount:)

Yeah, I remember seeing it. I'll try to go back and get it. I'm in the TYM building at the moment. :D

Wow, so much for nintendo graphics:) Dont skimp on side quests - some are really awesome.

TYM with no silencer- wow, hope you're not playign it rambo style:)

Oh, and congratulations on the card again- I take it all settings at max run with no problems?

It got a little laggy at times with everything on max. I'm not sure what settings do what, or how to optimise everything on my machine for it to run games better. I think I turned off vsynch and post processing and it seems to run fine for the most part now.

I just thought, I let windows find and install the driver, maybe it's not the latest and greatest driver version? I'll have a look on AMD and get the latest and see if it helps.

Yeah install the latest driver and see how that goes. Drivers are quite important, for exampe newest nvidia driver has increased average fps in one game by more than 50%!!

Oh, and I 've read about your cable managment woes in another thread? You really should have bought something like this (my case, £22 delivered brand new):

Yeah, this Antec 300 is so crap. I now remembered I'm also going to have to remove the motherboard to put the cpu cooler on. -_-

Yeah, installed the latest AMD drivers, big difference. Everything now back on high and running very smoothly. Now in the Picus building and getting through nicely. Picked up a silencer from one of the newsroom drawers! I think my difficulty settings are on the next one up from easiest. It's fine for now and suits me atm.

Oh, dear, it doesn't have a cut out on the back of the motherboard plate? And its still sold for about £50 brand new? Terrible, terrible... What are Antec thinking.

I got it used for £30. The newer ones do have a cutout, the old ones doesn't. This is something I overlooked back when I bought the case.

Ah dammit, nobody warned me not to get the upgrade chip. Now Namir is stomping me. :(

I had the same problem:) I think I had a lot of grenades and mines, so I would stand next to a corner and as soon as he would start running towards me I would start chucking all this explosive stuff in his direction. Mines are best because they detonate right under him. It took me about 20 goes though, maybe even more:)

Yes, £30(including shipping) is not to bad considering you got 5 fans there as well.

I had one fan in my case and and bought one silent Xsilence Red Wing fan which was about £4. I have only 2 fans in my case at the moment, but heat is not a problem- I have overclocked both CPU and GPU (manually, auto OC is hotter) and both run under 70C on full load.

Well, the case wasn't far from me so I collected. 3 of the fans that came with it (2 front, 1 side) are LED fans but they are ridiculously loud. I can't believe he was actually using them, must've had some reject dud fans that he threw in to try to sweeten the deal. I've taken them out and just running the top and back stock Antec fans on low. I haven't stress tested or OC'd yet but heat hasn't been a problem yet.

I've read that Antec fans tend to be louder than most, but yours must have their hydro bearing worn out. A lot of fans use those bearings nowadays because of they are relatively quiet, but the downside is they wear out quicker. Also LED fans tend to be noisier than non LED for all makes it seems.

I am also running one fan on bottom front and one on upper back of the case and it seems to be enough.

I've also cut out fine mesh pieces to cover all the vents in the case and this seems to eb working very nicely- no dust at all in my case after 2 months:)

The Antec fans seem fine. They're quieter than the stock cooler so I don't really hear them at all, especially with the case under the desk.

The noisy fans are some Akasa fans. Truly horrible. Must be worn bearings like you said.

Oh and I went back a few chapters in Deus Ex. I had no explosives at all, and with no augs either I just wasn't getting anywhere with Namir. I probably just suck at these games too. In the beginning, I was creating new save points for most new chapters or big events. But I stopped and just kept replacing save points after a while. Unfortunately, the last save point was just before the last boss, that girl. So I've started from there and I'm back in Detroit again. But this time I'm buying up tonnes of explosives and I'm not going to get that replacement chip.

Also, I saw there's a trick where you can bring up a hacked turret with you in the lift and use it against Namir. Unfortunately I blew that turret up instead of hacking. This time I will hack. :p
