Hey

I have a pretty old rig but it runs the games I play fine:

Mobo: SABERTOOTH X58
CPU: i7 950
GPU: Nvidia GTX 660

The problem is the 24" monitor is just not cutting it anymore and I would like to upgrade to 27". As its such an old rig I dont want to spend a lot on it but im not planning on upgrading any time soon so dont want "cheap and cheerful" either.

Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions?

But checking the specs for max res for the GPU it says:

3840x2160 at 30Hz or 4096x2160 at 24Hz supported over HDMI. 4096x2160 (including 3840x2160) at 60Hz supported over Displayport. Support for 4k tiled MST displays requires 326.19 driver or later.

Or is that very optimistic? I was hoping to get a better res

Hmm, I thought as much but I have no way to know if my rig can support the resolution or not until i test it, and I dont really know anyone with a monitor I can test with.

I am planning on overclocking the rig at some point so maybe that would give it the required horse power needed to run the higher resolution? but again I have no way of knowing until I test it.

I think I will hold off buying a new monitor for now, atleast until I can see how much I can overclock the computer.

Thanks for your help as always :)
