Budget £300 spec me.

Looking for a base unit for video encoding/playing music. No OS needed as will be running ubuntu. Under £300 would be great but I do need biggest hardrive and fastest cpu possible for the £'s. Thanks.

You won't get a particularly quick video encoding machine for £300, and as others have said in really low budget spec requests "OCuk is an enthusiast shop not a budget shop" so you might be better off looking elsewhere/2nd hand for some things.

Cheapest option from OCuk would probably be something like ""Primo Trinity" Intel Pentium Dual Core E6500 2.93GHz DDR2 System". Maybe ask OCuk for a quote for a 1TB HDD upgrade if space is an issue. If the budget was more like £400 you could probably do a custom build AM3 system.
