Shopping list currently has Mercedes SL55 or 911 on it, what else falls into this bracket?

Requirements are sporty drop top.

It will be replacing an XKR, ideally less than 2 years old as it's a daily driver and could go to £55k if it's worth it

As a dairly driver I think I'd be test driving the SL, Boxster and 911.
Nothing else strikes me as being sensible or reliable enough as a daily driver with the exception of the Lexus, which will kill you when you fall asleep at the wheel.

didn't the AMG CLS do a much better lap time something like a 5 second difference? cost 42k for the non-supercharged model, but is not a drop top.

Clarkson does not have an SLK as far as i knew? Not that its areason to choose a car anyway

I'd have an SL55 AMG most likely for this budget.
