I currently have a Lepa B750w PSU that has always been plenty for my one card setup but i'm looking to add a 2nd 280x to my rig and i'm not sure my PSU will be up to it. I bought the Lepa orginally because it got good reviews for a budget PSU but at the end of the day it is still a non-premium unit.

Is buying a good 850w like the EVGA a good idea or should i be looking at a 1000W unit in order to future proof myself in case i send up with two GPU's even more power hungry than the 280x?

Thanks

think of the noise if you can as well because my PSU is always the loudest part of my rigs... gets annoying when the only thing left to noise dampen is the one thing you don't want to void a warranty on lol

PSU is very important, id get...

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA SuperNova G1 1000W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £119.99
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 850W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £89.99
Total : £224.08 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Yeah they were the ones i've been looking at, i just dont want to get 1000w PSU if its gonna be massive overkill.

I'm a bit noise OCD so i agree that getting one thats as quiet as possible is important. I seem to read contradicting reports on the noise levels of EVGA and Superflower units so i'll probably just have to take my chances.

I have an Antec but tbh its not that quiet now... not sure it ever was lol Next time though I will be more conscious of it because once you upgrade the fans etc in the case it bugs you (or rather me atleast) that something is still spinning around like a hurricane inside it.

Grab the SF 850w unit its a steal at £89.99

If your budget is tight, grab the 750w model, its down to £79.99 atm,It also be able to produce enough juice for CF 280x's comfortably
