After a slight "incident" with some scalding hot coffee, both myself and my phone found ourselves damaged. Luckily, burns heal. Sadly, phones don't.

My LG G4 has been returned by Vodafone as "uneconomical to repair", so I find myself 6 months into a 24 month contract with no phone.

I have decided to buy a cheap sim-free Android phone for approximately £150 to get me through the next 18 months, and potentially beyond, rather than splash out on a new flagship device.

My requirements are:

MicroSD slot (preferably)
A vaguely decent camera

My shortlist is as follows:

LG Nexus 5X 16GB - £169 (limited offer)
Honor 5X - £151.57
Motorola Moto G4 - £159

Any thoughts? My initial thoughts were to go for the Nexus 5X over the other two.

EDIT:

Other options?
Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 - £109
Wileyfox Swift - £122

XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 3 PRIME 32GB = £155 from Gearbest or alternatives with 1 week delivery.

Has better performance than the devices in the OP.

I've got the redmi note 3 pro, and an more than happy with it coming from a Nexus 6. In fact I've also ordered my wife one as she kills the battery on her Nexus 6.

I'd say the camera is the only weak point, but that's when comparing to phones generally costing 2 to 4 times more. I find the quality fine once turned up to highest quality setting. But that's probably the only thing you might want to look into before purchasing.

It's also on miui which is fine, but something to be aware of.

I hadn't heard of the Redmi, what makes it such a clear winner?

If I'm honest, I'm looking for something I can buy today/tomorrow for next day delivery or go and pick up in store.

It has better specs in pretty much all departments. You won't be able to get it next day but you can get it within 3-4 days. Surely the extra 3 days wait is worth it to have a superior phone which you will use every day for the next 18 months.

the other thing to take into consideration is that the nexus 5x will get more updates than the other.. you just got to see if you can live without the SD card slot and 16GBs of storage.

Slow to focus and lots of noise in low light (by that I mean indoors)

Not had any problems with focus speed myself, indoor quality isn't the greatest. But it's not bad and similar to the Nexus 6 it replaced. Shutter speed is much faster than the Nexus 6 though. Which makes it much more useable.
