Hi guys, totally out the loop with the current crop of hardware but been asked by a friend who wants start selling PC based CCTV DVR systems whats a good budget box which is reliable and quite leniant to what hardware you chuck in (basically cheap nasty PCI DVR cards) as he'd had something based around a cheap Asus mobo and it wouldnt run but was fine with older hardware.
I said I'd ask on here as I aint got a clue whats what these days.
Looking for AMD and Intel options so those in the know, if you can spec me something it'd be great!
CPU wise anything celerony or semprony will do, 256-512 meg ram, a motherboard without loads of components near the front of the PCI slots due to stuff fouling on some of these cards with loads of camera connectors on them hitting mobo components... and otherwise pretty boggo machine, nothing special at all. Monitor, keyboard and mouse not needed
Thanks all!
