I want to build a budget computer but don't know what too choose for it.

I use my computer for mostly surfing the internet and watching movies, sometimes I play the odd game or two. Can anyone suggest anything to me?

I don't need memory,case,dvd-drive or cpu cooler.

Thanks.

Is this to replace PC in your spec? If no,disregard these questions.
What make and wattage is your Psu?
Will you need new hdd/dvd? Can include SSD if using your Hitachi.
What games do you play, will help spec you an appropiate Gpu.
Will you be re-using case?

I can go £20/30 over my budget if I must I do not need windows. Yes it is to replace my system in my sig. I have an optical drive and it is sata, I do not need a hard drive, but an SSD one would be nice.

The psu I have is just a cheap CIT 700W until I upgraded.

I usually play COD MW3 or Need for speed the run.

and yes I will be using my old case.

can keep memory, case, cooler (if you have the backplate), hdd.

I would save the SSD for later, so you can get some nice components.

No memory saves £40, which isn't negligeable. Leaves CPU, motherboard, PSU and GPU.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Sapphire HD 7850 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £184.98
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £173.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £104.99
1 x OCZ ZS Series 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £49.99
Total : £525.95 (includes shipping : £10.00).

If you gonna re-use the parts.

EDIT : hmm maybe overkill for light gaming. SSD would make more sense.

The CM 500W has 408W on 12 volts. I would pickup something beefier for a 6870.

Like the look of the specs with the 3570k :), 7850 is a bit over the top for me the 6850/70 is more what i'm looking for not to over the top :).

I have a backplate that fits socket 1155 boards.

Sorry my sig is wrong the board I have now is a N68C-S which can take ddr2 and 3 :).

Then I would go with Idleman, but use the OCZ PSU. Maybe drop the 8GB and use a 128GB M4.

If you don't want a used card, you can find a 6850 for under £100. Although the XFX 6870 is a good card itself.

i was looking at the AMD A-series cpus but I wasn't sure it looked good for the extra graphic boost but it can only be used as a xfire with a 6670 or below.

Should I just go for the i5 and the 6850 or 70 instead of the A-series?

This. Gpu comes with full 3yr warranty. But you could get the B grade and then you would be able to get a an M4 128 gb ssd.

Looks good enough for me, I think the 64GB will do for now and then later on maybe get another SSD :)

Thanks everyone for the help.

is it possible to use my old card and a new one at the same time, I don't mean sli or xfire, but using one card for one monitor and the other one for a different monitor.
