Afternoon good people of the internet,

Looking for a bit of advice on a gaming build.

So i have a budget of £300 but I already have a PSU and for now i'll be using a GTX 760 until I can upgrade to a 1050 ti. I also I do plan on overclocking..

Currently im thinking to go with:

Mobo - MSI B350 Gaming Pro £61
RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666 2x4GB £88
CPU - Ryzen 3 1200 - £71
SSD - Kingston A400 240GB - £42

This brings my total to £262. So my main question is.. What processor would you guys recommend?
I could go for the 1500x which would take me £10 over budget but I get an extra .4Ghz or the 2200g which is only £10 more than the 1200 and has 3.5Ghz and 4 cores the same as the 1500x...

How comes the 1500x costs more than the 2200g when it has the same clock speeds?

Any help and advice is much appreciated as I have been researching for a while now and i'm getting totally confuzzled!

I would look for an r5 1600. The extra cores are worth it, especially if you want to get a faster GPU down the line. if you can't afford that then go for the 1500x. The 2200g is only worth it if you want to use the integrated iGPU. The 1500x has more threads (8 Vs 4 on the 2200g) which will be useful performing CPU heavy tasks.

Also Ryzen CPUs benefit from faster RAM, this stuff is cheaper and faster than what you are looking at

The 1500x has 4cores 8 threads with the potential to boost (using xfr) higher, where as the 1200 has 4 cores with no smt or xfr (extended frequency range) if you intend to use your own gpu for now I wouldn't bother with the 2200g as that has a built in gpu. Check to see if you can find a comparison between the 2200g and your gtx760, I'd guess the 760 would be ahead, but worth a look.

Have a look here. This is a good offer with 3000mhz ram, goods board, SSD and Ryzen 2600

It goes for £308 right now.

Get TeamGroup memory, as good as Corsair if not better and cost less.
Likewise TeamGroup SSD as well, they are superior and only a little extra, but worth it for the 3D NAND which is quite a bit faster and more durable.
