Hi Guys,
I need to upgrade my current PC and have a budget of around £600.
The parts I already have are:
PSU - Corsair GS700
Memory - 1 stick Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz CAS 9 (Will get some more when budget allows)
Storage - 2 x 500 GB Samsung Spinpoint F1
Case - Antec 900 mid atx
The parts I need are:
SSD - as large as possible for windows and main games
Motherboard
Gfx Card
Processor
Cheap DVD drive (black to go with case if pos)
Windows 7 / 8.1 (whichever is actually better, heard a lot of hate regarding windows 8)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I mostly play games (1080) but I also produce music using Cubase.
For this reason i was thinking of going i7 4790K for the multi threading for use with Cubase, but i'm not sure if that's stretching the budget a little too much and if I would even get the benefit over an i5 4690k.
I don't plan on overclocking and only chose the 4790k because of the difference in clock speed versus the non "k" version, and the 4690k as it only cost a little more then the non "k" version.
I am upgrading from a Q9450 and GTS450 so I should hopefully feel the difference!
Any help and advice is appreciated
Thank you!
