Hello OCUK. I've planned almost all of my pc components but would like a few more recommendations and suggestions on the components before pulling the trigger.
My budget would be €600-700 excluding case & hdd.
I`ll be ordering from compuland.de
Main purpose: Gaming.

Build 1 Future CF config with bigger PSU
Processor - Intel i5-2500k (€183)
Motherboard - Looking for a mobo that can support sli/xfire setups. So far, I've narrowed down my choice to the Asrock z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 (€108)
RAM - Team Group Elite 8GB (€30) or G.Skills RipjawsX 8GB (€38)
PSU - Super Flower Atlas 780W 80+ Modular (€82)
Cooler - Scythe Mugen 2 Rev.B (€32)
GPU - Sapphire Radeon 6950 Toxic (€252)
TOTAL - €687

Build 2 Non-CF config with small PSU
Processor - Intel i5-2400 (€161)
Motherboard - A motherboard just for single GPU setup. Recommendations?
RAM - Team Group Elite 8GB (€30) or G.Skills RipjawsX 8GB (€38)
PSU - 580W Super Flower Atlas Design Edition 80 + Modular (€65)
Cooler - CM Hyper TX 3 (€19) or 212+ (but its not available)
GPU - PowerColor Radeon 6950 2GB (cheapest 6950 2GB on the web) (€217)
TOTAL - €492 excluding mobo

I can save around maybe €150+ and use that €150+ I saved to invest for my upcoming system? but is it worth it?
Which build would you recommend? The more "future-proof" Build 1 or build 2?
Thanks for reading my post. Sorry for the not-so-good english >.<

psu wise look at antec, corsair, enermax(if you can find them, lepa g series is made by them), seasonic, silverstone. they maybe more expensive than the super flower but better brand.

gigabyte z68xp-ud3 seems to be a popular choice here, or asus p8z68-v/gen3

non sli option gigabyte z68ap-d3

cooler gelid tranquilo or corsair a50

I agree with all these suggestions. If youre interested in a gen3 board, there are some MSI ones on here for pre-order. Don't know when they are coming out.

If you want to save a bit, maybe drop the GPU down a bit. The 6950 toxic is good as it can match the 6970 with a flick of a switch (potenially).
If you do want to save id go for a GTX560ti. The gigabyte OC one is good and in a decent price range. You can get one for under the £200 mark. Make sure it's a Ti version.

I would remove the place you are purchasing it from, it should be here if your on these forums. We can still give you advice though.

well if the op doesn't live in the uk it'll prob be cheaper them to get it from a retailer/etailer in their country, doesn't stop them asking for advice on here. plus seeing as the place mentioned is not uk based not sure if ocuk will make as big a fuss(tho you never know).

Sorry for barging into OCUK when I'm not purchasing from here :( Reason is because here is more expensive than the german websites I'm planning to order from.

560 ti was my choosen gpu but I switched it out with the 6950 because of its 2gb ram and I've heard 2gb ram will help in multi-monitor setups? and more "future-proof" in gaming? Need some clarifications as I'm just getting all these info from forums.

Antec PSUs are expensive :( How about corsairs? I've been looking at this

Is this PSU ok? Does it have enough connectors for a dual gpu setup? and is it capable of doing that?
