Hi guys,

I'm looking for a budget case that is around £30 but the cheaper the better. It needs to fit an MATX board but a bigger sized case will be nicer really. Cable management is also important.

Some of the options I found were:

Bitfenix Neos
Bitfenix Merc Alpha/Beta
Zalman Z1/T1/T1U3/T2/T3/T4

What do you guys think to these? Are there alternatives?

Thanks! :)

Yeh they look pretty awesome. Just worries me as they are new. There may be better alternatives for the money but I don't really know.

If possible cheaper cases would be better as well as this build is on one heck of a budget!

Cheers :)

One thing I have noticed is that it only comes with one fan. Some of the Zalman's such as the Z3/Z3 Plus have three or four preinstalled.

Is this more worthwhile? Or would it still be better to go with the Bitfenix and perhaps buy a seperate fan?

Cheers guys :)

Better to buy from a quality manufacturer like Bitfenix and just get some Bitfenix/other fans to put in.

I have nothing against Zalman cases but for the price they bracket you can't go wrong with the Bitfenix. I think the reason they come with more fans is because the airflow from the case is poor.

Rebuilt my old gaming PC using a M-ATX mobo in one of these tuther week, The front ventilation is not visible in the pics as they are slots running down the sides, Case is superb for the money, Couple of front USB's headphone socket etc, looks nice up on my desk & has a lovely blue light.

This is certainly another option thanks for the information as well. The only problem I've noticed is that the front headers are USB2.0. It probably wouldn't matter too much though.

How about a 'B' grade case ? It takes ATX/MATX boards.

I hadn't really considered this but its a good idea. The only problem is I need two really. Was looking to get identical ones. I didn't mention this previously.

Thanks again :)

Hi guys,

I've just thought about second hand as another option. Is there any good case that I could get for £20 second hand, or something similar?

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Start a thread in the Members Market - you never know what might turn up.

The Bitfenix Neos looks great for the price, although I'm not sure how great cable management will be. There doesn't seem to be a huge amount of space behind the motherboard tray.

From what i can tell, I think you run the cables inside a 'tube' that runs the length of the Mobo.

..don't think they'll be room for much, if anything behind the tray.

Thanks for the response guys.

Cable management is what concerns me really. Also the only problem with second hand is I need two. This will make things much easier and quicker really.
