Currently have an AMD FX-8320e that is getting too loud. It runs on a stock cooler and I've managed so far but sometimes it goes into turbo mode and it's getting distracting when using the pc, especially when it starts doing it randomly whilst i'm not even using the pc!

My current temp is 32 degrees so it isnt exactly running that hit, it's just a noise issue really..

I don't want to spend more than £25 if possible. I looked at the Cooler Master as that is back in stock soon and gets good reviews but was put off by one guy saying the tone "isn't particularly annoying either".

I'm not too fussy and dont expect to not hear a peep from my pc, but at the minute when the turbo kicks in the fan sounds like a jet fighter taking off so would love something a little more quiet

will this do?

case dimensions are 49 x 19 x 43.9 cm

Many thanks in advance

The 212 Evo fits my Merc Alpha just fine, the Beta just has a solid top panel. The Themis is every bit as good as the Evo, just cheaper. Admittedly the heat plate isn't a mirror finish, but it's still a good cooler. it just means cleaning old thermal paste off takes longer.

With the height available, then the Alpenfohn Matterhorn Pure edition would also fit.

It's the same size as the 212 Evo and is very good. It is £30 though, so slightly over your budget.

The Matterhorn is an excellent cooler for the money, I'd easily recommend it over a CM Hyper 212 or the Raijintek Thermis. If you don't want to spend that much, then get the Thermis, it's just as good as the CM for cheaper. You could also add an extra fan and go push/pull for around the same price as the CM.
