Budget CPU air cooler. Which one ?

If its still under £50, the Deepcool AK500 is quite substantial, and looks very nice. Only reason it'll go out of my machine is if I get an exceptional deal on something bigger, or a great deal on a chonky great AIO 240-360 sized. :)

Was thinking about a cooler for my daughter's machine and was shocked to see the budget hyper 212 is over 50 now. Just nuts.

None RGB ones are under £40.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £136.63 (includes delivery: £8.70)

The Thermalright Peerless Assassin SE120 at just under £40 for the non RGB version (ARGB is just under £44) is unbeatable for the price/performance. Have a read of this review. I am chuffed to bits with mine.

You can get a AK620 for just a little more and while it’s deffo overkill for a 5600x it would run incredibly quietly and serve you for plenty of upgrades down the line. Also looks great.

I almost always build with bigger / higher cooling ability coolers than required. Cooler rated 200w on a 100w CPU give CPU temps at 50-60% fan speed that a 120w cooler will at 90-100% .. end result is much quieter system. ;)

Thermalright 5x heatpipe single towers start at 22 quid (Assassin King 120) and 6x heatpipe twin towers start a little below 30 (Silver Soul 135). Both are very good coolers, but than all Thermalright are good. ;)

Yep, to be honest I built with a 200w cooler, wish I'd gone for a 250. My CPU is only using around 150w overclocked but it's still pushing this cooler hard.
