Budget CPU Fan (for an i7)

I recently upgraded and I'm still using the stock CPU fan - which isn't great. What's a good alternative that's relatively cheap? When I had my C2D I used the original Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro which did a pretty good job. Not the best, I know, but it could handle a bit of an overclock. I was looking at getting around 3.6GHz from this 920 - would the ACF7 suffice? Or do I need something a bit better?

Why have you bought an i7 if you want budget?

Surely if you've done an i7 build you will have decent other components, so spending ~£40 on a decent CPU cooler isn't going to hurt...?

It's not that. I just don't want to buy something that's going to be completely over the top. What's the point in getting something that can handle a bajillion GHz when I only want it at, say, 3.6?

In that case something like the one you mentioned or a Titan Fenrir should suffice.

most i7 will do 3.6ghz at under there stock voltage use the stock fan or go all out, buying budget is a waste of money here

i'm only running an i5 but @3.4ghz on stock volts temps are pretty good. circa 60c on prime after about 4 or 5 hrs and mid 60's with IBT doing 20 runs

My recommendation also. It will cool an i7 920 at 4GHz so 3.6GHz will be easy.
