Apologies first of all if this should be in the Monitors section...i think that my question rests across both sub forums so took a punt here :)

Looking to do a budget Eyefinity setup with my 7950 cards.

I have a single 24" 1080p screen at present and my thoughts were around picking up 2 cheap 19" DELL or the like 4:3 1280x1024 screens to add as left/right monitors.

Main games I play are race sims tbh so I thought that the 4:3 screens would be adequate for side windows.....as real ones are smaller than a windscreen anyways.

As my desk isn't that big this would fit nicely and the other half as forgiving of my addiction to sims as she is, might get slightly angry if I buy another 2 24" panels :D

So....big questions are:

1. Will it work - I heard somewhere that Eyefinity driver now supports multiple res eyefinity...but not 100% sure
2. Has anyone else tried it?
3. Is this a ridiculous idea? lol
4. Does anyone have 2 19" 4:3 panels they dont want? :p

Thanks as always for any help/thoughts etc

Ben

This is great news! I've wanted this for awhile because it is nice to use old monitors as second or even third screens, being able to make use of them gaming is even better.

Obviously you have to have at least 1 screen getting a display port signal or eyefinity doesn't play ball. Startech do a mini dsp port to vga box which we use at work. Great piece of kit for like £15 and means you can use a vga only screen :)
