I have a Canon 60D and Sony a6000 both with kit lens, 50mm and a cheap 70-300 on the Canon. Both budget setups.
I use 50mm 90% of the time on both. I always end up drawn to the subject separation, bokeh and image quality. I take family shots and walk around type shots of anything I think looks interesting. Low light photos and macro interest me too.
I miss the front control dial when I use the a6000, a lot. But I prefer the way the a6000 focuses, the size and the image quality with the 50mm to the point I don't use the 60D anymore.
What do you think to trading up both to a Sony A7. I've found a second hand one with a kit lens and 50mm for £630 which is a similar setup to my current two. I'm thinking it will handle more like the Canon (having a front control dial) and focus similar to the a6000? I would get even more DoF control which I love. I'd lose the very good 50mm OSS lens on the a6000.
Would you make the switch?
