System spec is now going to be
http://img372.imageshack.us/my.php?image=budgetyoooolm7.jpg

Is 500w enough for a psu? also, i was advised to even try using my x850 xt pe in that pc before spending money on a graphics card as i'm currently limited by my cpu - it would also mean if its not good enough im not missing anything as i would have to buy it anyway

Also modular would be better correct?

It could even work out better because the new graphics cards are coming out therefore making them cheaper correct?

Input on new pc? hoping to hit 3.6-4ghz

The system spec was
http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/4364/budgetnq4.jpg

I decided to buy another case as i dont like how heavy my current case is and its quite small
I currently have

2x 36gb raptors
1x 200gb storage
17inch Monitor
x-fi xtreme music soundcard
Thermaltake 5000a case (Seems very bad (heavy) and crap cooling and clutterd)

Main game is cod4. need 125/250fps on lowest settings!

Any improvements to be made on spec for price/performance

Current case looks good, I wouldn't bother with the little case (in my experience, just asking for problems later on).

Spec looks really good, I'd go with that.

Small cases tend to increase the heat quite significantly unless you've got very good airflow and fans so like melbourne I'd stick with what you have.

It looks like a good specification overall, you can try in the Members Market but it helps to know what you are looking for as it isn't always as much of a bargain as you might expect.

so think i will have sufficient cooling and airflow in my current case to get my cpu to around 3.6-4ghz?

Is the cpu also powerful enough? 500w what are the rails like?

Hey just to let you know, the power supply and RAM are a good choice. I have them in my system and they are both great! :]

i didnt want to have the other thread to cluttered as it had a lot of posts
I wanted to be extremely clear on the items i was going to order

It also means if i was to buy the system and post it on here i would have a comment such as owww that was a bad buy... just making sure really

So thanks everyone and i will ask my manager what price he can do them for me ;)

EDIT* So that mobo and ram should enable me to get very high clock speeds out of my processor correct? hence the reason for 2 threads :D

Also that cooler is good enough to be expecting 3.6-4ghz if the chip will allow it?

ok well i'm sorry, next time i'l just edit my original post

I only done it seeing as most people ask for spec advice and then i have seen post with a screenshot similiar checking the components they are gonig to buy just before they click buy

This is to confirm if its 100% correct such as mobos a good overclcoker, graphics card is going to be outdated in a month, also that there getting a good price

Like i said tho, sorry i thought it was just the way it was done - i'l edit my post next time ;)

The motherboard is fairly good for overclocking, Gigabyte usually are a pretty safe bet for it at least. It isn't particularly fully featured but it has the basics covered.

The Ram is fine, as good as most PC6400 as far as I'm aware.

modular is not better in terms of performance. But modular gives you the advantage of only using cables you require which means better cable management and possibly better airflow in small cases. However modular tend to be more expensive than regular versions.

500W is more than enough

PS also Geil Black Dragoon PC6400C4 is slightly better than the other Geil PC6400C4. ie they get similar timings at lower voltage meaning better OC headroom.

PSS also no need to spam w/ double thread, if you don't believe advice then do your research
