Guys

Need a new computer for my younger brother, mainly for games and school work.

Budget:
£450 +vat (£530 inc vat)

Need:
  • Case (antec 300?)
  • Mobo
  • Cpu
  • Memory
  • Psu
  • Graphics card
  • Hard drive (300gb)

Leaning towards a Q6600 but it's bumping the price up a bit.

Specs please!
Thanks!

Thanks for the spec. But I should have mentioned - Intel and nVidia preferred!

Also please keep in mind - £450 PLUS vat :) (£530 inc vat)

Tbh i would get ATI for the gpu, even the Nvidia 'fanboys' are admitting that ATI has 'won' this generation. A P5Q pro and E8400 would be a *** gaming combo for board and cpu. RAM, HDD and optical drives are pretty even imo. Defo go for a corsair PSU and the Antec 300 seems to be a real bargain

didnt realise it was 450 + vat lol then yeah go for an Intel like the other guys sed..if you prefer...

just swap the CPU and Mobo, and GPU if you want nVidia over ATI

I've never had a good experience with ATI tbh (drivers, blurry display, etc), and own a 8800GT in my own pc and am very pleased with it.

Someone give me some shopping basket screen shots please? thanks.

The mobo i chose has fairly good reviews and ASUS is a great make..the reviews say that coupled with the Q6600 its a great combo and some good overclocks from them both, but i doubt your younger bro's into that (maybe near future lol).
Also by going cheaper on the mobo saves a few pounds allowing for the 8800GTX which is brilliant for the money, saying that its on 'This week only Offer' (so I'd hurry and choose :P)
and I have the Corsair memory and its brill ^ ^
