Hi guys

Im having a tough time deciding on a CPU for a new budget build for my son.

GPU will be a 1660 super and I was seriously looking at a Ryzen 3 3300x but as you cant get them for love nor money, I am looking at either a 3100 or i3 10100.

Only a tenner difference now. Is it worth waiting a while for a 3300x or would one of the others be good enough. Pc will be used for the likes of COD and BL3 at 1080p.

I know I can runner fast ram with the Ryzen and overclock if needed but would there be much difference in real life performance between the 2?

Cheers
Gwyn

Im trying to keep every thing a low as I can, I have allocated £120 for the CPU. Nothing bought yet.

You might be better off picking up used parts in members market. After 5th Nov there may be some people looking to shift on their CPU

Good point. I am running a 3600 and its great, what do they tend to go for used?

3600x often get sold around £140-150 mark. I think the 3600 would be around £100. Not seen any for along time tho. I guess you are building something for someone else with a budget?
Yes my son. I want enough cash for the 1660 super at 1080p
