I’ve been asked by a friend to help them buy a new family PC. I’ve lost touch with PC specs since switching to a Mac.

They are looking for a prebuilt good all rounder. They got kids (one early teens the other around 8-9) So something that could be used for games (fortnite etc) as well as general web/office/school work.

They will need everything Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor as well.

Budget £1000 (at a push £1100)

Any help would be great!

£1030ish:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £877.78 (includes shipping: £15.90)

+ (elsewhere)

LG 24MP59G 75Hz IPS monitor - £110
HyperX Cloud Stinger headset - £45

The £70 leftover in the £1100 budget could go towards better monitor or headset, perhaps. I was aiming for the £1000 budget though.

That’s perfect! Thanks very much for that.

Get 8GB RAM instead of 16GB, then you can get GTX 1060/1070. Far more performance gains there

Couple of things, the first being no argument that 1060/1070 offers even more performance.

Reason I suggested the 1050Ti though, is because that's way more than enough for Fortnite and 8-9 year olds (and an early teen), so why spend more on graphics right now when that's something that improves considerably every generation (two years or so), and also because all the Asus H310 boards available at OcUK only have two RAM slots, so best to get 16GB in right away.
