Budget Gaming PC in a Shinobi!

Complete! Final Photos in Post #31

The Idea of this was to build a mid-range gaming PC for a friend of mine to get into PC gaming. He was on a fairly tight budget (around £600) and wanted a decent gaming PC that can play all games on medium-high settings.

The build is currently finished, but I am still yet to go a take some pictures of the complete build.

A few weeks after building the initial PC, he replaced the golf fans (with spectre's), added a window panel, a braided 24-Pin and a Led strip. Pictures of this will come soon

Here is the spec:

Bitfenix Shinobi (Black)
Asus P8Z77-LX2
Intel i5 3330
8Gb Teamgroup elite 1600Mhz
Corsair CX600M Power Supply
KFA2 GTX 660 EX OC Graphics card
Western digital 500Gb (Kindly donated by a friend).
Windows 8-Pro 64 Bit (modified to make it less 'sucky').





Power supply out of the box! (With modular cables attached).






Nice GPU (our only complaint was that it was a little 'plasticy')




That's it for now. As I said, ill try and get some nicer pictures of the completely finished build. Another thing he got was an OcUK XXL gaming surface which we're pleased to report is awesome!

I eventually noticed. Looking forward to this. Would love a huge budget build myself, but like the mid tower logs as I get more ideas from them.

6KW is 100% needed to run those beastly fans. They look like they are at least two metres high!

Also, your sig needs to be a maximum of 4 lines long to comply with forum rules

Yeah. He has been able to crank up the settings in all the games so far. (Im still trying to convince him to buy Battlefield 3 and Skyrim). Just Cause 2, Portal 2 and stuff is a huge step up from the PS3 he was on before

Mini Update thing.

Just dug up a (over exposed) photo just before the first boot. There is still a lot of cable management that needs doing and the ghetto fan placement needs to be sorted, but it turned out fine!

I love new things. Aren't they beautiful? My OH may need her own PC soon, so am looking forward to building another rig for her. When I say building a rig for her, I mean taking out the slower bits of mine, putting them into a case for her, and buying new faster bits for me

It's just a shame that I can't really afford all the new things I would like to

Should probably start a new thread about it since the case in question is different You will probably get a fair number of replies because the Z9 is a very popular case.

Another Mini Update Thing

I keep on finding pictures on my camera that I haven't copied over to my PC, so here's some more pictures for you. The ghetto-fan has been sorted in the second picture, but not the cable mess.

CPU Cooler

After adding the Bitfenix fans (will show pictures soon) the stock Intel cooler seemed really loud, so he decided to add an Xigmatek Dark Knight CPU cooler. This will not only be a lot quieter, but it will look nicer and be able to cool any CPU upgrades.

Nice seeing another shinobi build. Bit daunting putting that cooler together just like my xigmatec Gaia! Had a freezer pro before and it was just a case of sticking it on the mobo!
