So I've put together the following to play BF3 and Skyrim exclusively:

Fractal Design Define R3 Black Pearl Mid-Tower USB 3.0 Case
Asus P8Z68-V PRO LGA1155 Intel Z68 DDR3 ATX (USB 3.0)
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz LGA1155 6MB
G-Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus Socket 775, 1156,1155 AM2, 1366, AM3 Processor Cooler
HITACHI Deskstar Internal 3.5" SATA Hard Drive 7200 RPM - 500GB
Corsair Memory TX650 V2 650W ATX Enthusiast Series

for around £560, although I could've achieved lower if it weren't for the recent HDD price hikes.

Is this a good price for the above components or shall I wait until xmas for possible reductions? I haven't included a graphics card as I already own a 5770.

I have a day left to make my decision, so any advice or other recommendations would be welcome!

I should probably mention that I do intend to overlock the 2500k and upgrade to a GTX 580 in the future. Would this system give me enough leeway to do so?

I'm completely new to all this and it's my first build, so bear with me guys :p

Yes. Not exactly budget though. Hard drive prices may go up, or they may go down for Christmas. For the rest, I don't know. But components are good.

The P8Z68 V-Pro is practically the same as the P8Z68 V, minus a couple of USB3 / SATA3 ports.

For the memory, use low profile sticks with that cooler, such as Kingston HyperX or Corsair XMS3.

Haha yeah it's not, but it's the best I could come up with for a future-proof gaming rig.

If I were to keep the case and 2500k (which I'm dead set on), what budget components would you personally recommend for a pure gaming system? Keep in mind that I'll be doing minimal OC'ing and might want to make small future upgrades (such as an additional hdd or new gpu) :)
