Now my budget build is almost complete i just need a graphics card. Need something that is going to be cheap, able to play HD movies and also be used for a bit of gaming.

Have been looking at either Asus GeForce 210 512MB or XFX ATI Radeon HD 4650 XXX 512MB. The 210 being £10 cheaper than the 4650.

Anyone used either of these cards and would like to comment? I will be using it with a E6300 overclocked to atleast 3Ghz

Between these two the 4650 is best.

Both will be able to assist the cpu with HD decoding but if you start adding pixels shaders in mpc-hc then you may run out of processing power (I think they are pointless anyway!).

However, neither are capable of much gaming.

I would suggest a 4670 for budget gaming as it still out performs the current alternatives in its price range.

Yeah i do not mind 2nd hand at all. The full build has been with 2nd hand gear. If i could pick up a 9800gt or 8800gt for around £30 that would be spot on.

Thank you

I have a 4650 (ddr2 ram) paired with a P4 3.2GHz cpu and 2 gig of ram.

Its more than adequate for use as a media card (video, pictures etc).

As for gaming... well honestly its not too bad, but dont expect anything from the card.

I played Dirt 2 on medium at 1280x1040 at it played fine, I played cod4 with near max (no shadows) at 1280x1040 and it was a bit touch and go...

Overall, for a budget gpu at a low res its adequate.
