Hi everyone, been a lurker on this forum for a long time and its only now i need a bit of advice that i join. i appologise for that

Basicly, i used to consider myself quite knowledgable with hardware, however having kids has distracted me and i find myself with a dated rig, no idea where to go and no money lol!

Basicly, looking for a a PCI Express Graphics card, under 150 (close to 100 would be nice) what would you recomend. i game on a TFT so resolution is never above 1280 x 1024. Currently running 2 6800 GT's in SLI

i appreciate any advice

Steve

Thanks.. basic system spec is as follows

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+
ASUS M2N-E Mobo
4 Gb Ram (budget stuff im afraid)
Running Windows Vista

i was leaning towards a 4850 - just dont have the confidence i once did

i appreciate the advice

Should be fine, either card would be good. The 4850s are the big new thing at the moment, but you could probably pick up the 8800 GTs a bit cheaper these days. Up to you really.

Ive had a bit of a look around, i think the 4850 is the way to go, im not a fan of nvidia so much these days, my own fault for jumping on the early SLI days and i really didnt get the performance i wanted.

cant grumble to much, i bought the cards back in 2005 and here i am 3 years later thinking about upgrading

Always been an ATI fan so ill give that another crack.

thanks for all the help, i appreciate the advice and ill post up and let you know how happy i am when the card lands

**edit order now placed :)
