Hi Guys,

My sister is enjoying Minecraft, but is using onboard graphics on her 2GB Core2Duo, 2GB RAM Windows 7 PC, and I've had to turn the settings down quite a bit to give a nice smooth experience.

I'm trying to find a cheap graphics card that will allow me to turn things such as the niceties for 3D Lighting and ramp up the render distance a little bit. Would something like an ATI 5450 or 6450 be ample? Not wanting to spend a great deal, as she's saving for Uni next year as well.

If anybody has other suggestions (i.e. NVIDIA) they are gratefully received.

Thanks in advance!

James

how much money?

you'll get more bang for buck 2nd hand, maybe nice 5770, they go for around 40-50 now and it's a great little card :)

What onboard graphics are you using? I would imagine either of those will be fine for your needs. My 4 year old 4870 can run most games on medium-high and at those prices you would be getting a good upgrade from your onboard graphics.
