Hi there, sorry about another 'spec me' thread but here goes...

Im looking for a reasonable graphics card to go in my new build but I dont know what sort of budget I should set/which cards to look at. Any advice in the area would be great!

Im not a serious gamer but I would quite like a decent card that would let me play stuff like total war or civ games and maybe battlefield if thats possible on a budget?

Also I have an i5 2500k and a 650w psu so hopefully that wont put any constraints on my choices and I'll be hooked up to a 1920x1080 monitor. As for Nvidia vs ATI I'm leaning towards Nvidia but whatever people would recommend for my use would be cool.

As i said a point in the right direction would really be useful and definitely appreciated! Thanks all :)

Possibly a Nvidia 560ti or AMD 6950, both should be fine at your res. Whats your upper limit 200 300, I find it better some times to find my limit then look for the best I can withing that. The 2 cards mentioned are a good starting point.

With decent performance for the price, I've got a GTX460 and it runs BF3 fine at 1920x1200 (med-high settings). There's not much difference between the 6850 and 460, both pretty equal though the 6850 uses slightly less power I believe.

Of course, you can spend more but these seem at a decent price/performance.

What make/model PSU is it?

Hey thanks!

Whats your upper limit 200 300

I'd quite like to keep it between 50-100 but i do want it to last me a couple of years. I had had a look around already and seen the 560 ti and im guessing the AMD is equal but is it worth spending the extra bit more for my use?

Its a coolermaster 650 GX

Thanks for the list of cards as well just going to read up on them now. As far as ocuk products go, do they hold up well against branded ones? I think i can guess the answer I'll get on here ;)

That PSU should be OK. For £50-100 A 460 or 6850 is definitely the way to go. yes the OCUK ones will just be a cheap brand I think, perfectly fine.

Yeah all the reviews seem very positive

Thank you very much for the help starting, hoping to get the spare cash over the next few weeks but I now have something to aim for
