Ok, a friend wants a standard home theatre PC at a budget of.. £250 >_< eek..
So yeah.. Best to ask here for a range of different specs :) He basically needs everything but a case, keyboard, mouse and monitor..

I know the budget is low but it's not my money so I can't budge it up any higher heh..

His quote to me was "I only want a media center to watch TV and record"

not sure how good the tv card is, so if you know of a better one get that instead

only 160GB but i expect him to either burn things onto dvd, delete things he's finished with or get a bigger hdd at a later date.

if you know the psu is bad, get a better one.

should be ready for HD playback btw through the 780G chipset on the MB

if amd coolers are loud, get a 3rd party cooler that is quiet

also drop some ram if 2GB isnt needed for a media pc
