Budget Nikon flash triggers. Which ones are the most reliable?

For the past 3 years I've been using a Cactus V4 set comprising of 1 transmitter and 3 receivers. They started misfiring about 6 months after buying them but only once in every 20 shots or so. For the last year they've been abysmal and I'm lucky if they trigger the flash 3 out of 20 times, even at a range of less than 10 metres with no light interference.

Pocket Wizards would obviously be the way to go but I don't have the funds for those at the minute. I've been a good lad this year though (kind of) so Santa might deem me worthy of a single PW transceiver this Christmas to get me started with a permanent triggering solution.

So in the meantime I'm after a robust and reliable budget set. I don't need any fancy-pants TTL or grouping capability, just the ability to set the channel.

A bit of extra info. These will be used with a Nikon D90 and the flashes are a Nikon SB-25 and a Nikon SB-80DX.

TIA

I got a couple of Kunchoi K1-N TTL wireless flash triggers off the bay for a good price. I have a D90 as well and they work a treat.

Thanks kidloco. How long have you been using yours and do you have any/many misfires? Also, are the different colours purely cosmetic?

Ive had them a few months now. prob around 5-6. Cant say I have noticed any misfires. took me a few tries to get it all setup and working properly, after that I just left the settings as they are and i'm good to go when I switch them on. Oh, and yes colours are just cosmetic.

I really must learn to follow up on some of the threads I start.

That's good enough for me. If you've had no problems they're probably worth a shot. They don't cost an awful lot so it'll be no great loss if they pack up after a year.
