Hi, after being well overdue a new pc system i had a quick look on OCUK and noticed the "primo drone" system going for £180!
Now coming from someone currently on a 8/9year old system (single core Athlon xp 1900, 512 ram, 128mg GeForce 4) (anyone remember a spec like that? LOL)), cost me about £1000 "back in the day"), this Primo Drone system would give me a nice upgrade from what i make do with atm.

Anyway, im more of a console kind of guy when it comes to gaming, so only really use pc for web, watching/editing vids, work etc, so dont exactly need a top spec graphics card. But is it worth the extra cost of adding a graphics card to replace the onboard gpu? It would only be a budget £30/£40 card i would be using btw.

Cheers

For the money - the primo drone is one heck of a system - especially considering what you are coming from. With a Athlon II X2 CPU and 4GB you should see a big jump in performance for stuff like video editing and just general PC use.

Please bear in mind that you will also need an operating system (unless you already have one you can run with it) so if you need a new one I would strongly suggest adding the optional "windows 7 home premium 64 bit" for £66.66 which is an option on the Primo drone page (brings the total price up to £259.99).

Considering your uses, you may want to forgo a graphics card (unless you plan to watch HD videos), however the SSD (Solid State Hard Drive) option which is offered on that page is well worth going for IMHO, specifically the "OCZ Agility Series 30GB" for £37.99. This will really make the PC feel a lot faster.

If you do want to try a graphics card - then I would suggest this HD 5450 for £25.19. It will allow you to smoothly play any 1080p videos and should allow you to play less demanding recent games on low settings and resolution (much better than what the geforce 7050 that is on the motherboard).
