Treat yourself to a new "P45" motherboard with the new ICH10R RAID controller... Otherwise, your new pc will sack you! ;)

it doesn't, - it doesn't have any IDE controller in the Intel chipset.
usually a JMicron used to add it.

My apologies, jumped in too quickly with a "whitty" reply (P45-sack)!

Does look like having two IDE channels is going to mean getting a motherboard that is a few chipset generations old.
I presume you have more than two IDE storage devices that you want to access through this new motherboard?
Could you not purchase a newer chipset board with a single IDE channel and then have access to the other IDE storage via a LAN, making use of another (older) pc at the same location?

thansk for the feedback. I guess the easy solution is to justbuy a SATA DVD drive and hand my other 2 hdd of one IDE channel.

I would. Sata dvd drives are cheap and at least it doesn't limit your choice of mobo.

There are some cracking p35 boards going cheap atm or look at the new p45 boards.
