Hey all,

I've got a really good idea for an iPad/iPhone game...

And I was wondering how much moola I would require to get the game made?

I know this is a very subjective question :p The game wouldn't have much (if any) 3D graphics... It's a business/finance sort of game (a bit like GameDevStory or MegaMallStory)

Any good advice would be greatly appreciated - I don't even know where to start looking for people to make this a reality (to be honest, I don't even know if I just need a coder or whether or not I'd need a designer of some sort)

Thanks,

Marky

That is a tough question. Most iOS projects that I've work on have lasted around 3 months end-to-end, though I've never worked on a game. Still, three months of effort is far more than, say, a website.

I'm sure there's software houses in India that could do it for a reasonable price - maybe somewhere around £5,000. What the end quality would be like is debatable though. A quality UK development team is going to be at least 5x more expensive.

Indeed it is a tough question to answer without giving away my idea :p £5,000 was actually the figure I had in my head...

Maybe I'll get a few drawings stitched together, find a few programmers/designers and stick together a Kickstarter campaign... :p :)

I looked into this and after hours of research just decided it was too much hassle for little / no reward. In game ads generate little revenue and you have to be very lucky or have marketing power to promote paid apps to generate profit. If you have a spare £5,000 to spare i can think of many other business idea's.

How bout you let me run a pool hall for you?
