Hi guys,

Thinking of upgrading my bedroom system to replace the sony midi system I've had for years. Been reading a load of reviews on the Aego M and (especially for the £99 price tag) they seem to be a real bargain.

Question is, however, how much (roughly) would I need to spend on a budget amp plus speakers (only need these - nothing else) in order to get the same sound quality? Obviously its all subjective but just wanted a rough idea.

If possible can I have a few examples of said amp + speaker combos?

depends if you want second hand or new seperates mate.

second hand you could prob pick up a budget amp and speakers for £100, but im always a bit wary of buying 2nd hand speakers.

new you are lookin gfor around £40 - £60 for an amp and them same maybe more for speakers. then you need speaker wire as well.

its up to you mate, the Aego's do sound great, and the also look fantastic. im more then happy with them for my pc sound and listening to MP3s. wouldnt have them as my main system though.

Thanks for the advice, I've bought them anyway (arrived today) and will probably use them as my main for now then wait til I have more funds to build a decent separates system for a more serious system.

Sound pretty good as they are, cant wait til they break in properly though as they do sound a bit muffled at the moment.
