Hi, Building a little PC for my 6 Y/o nephew. He will want to play minecraft, and probably some other kid friendly titles, but won't be playing anything to demanding for the next few years at least!

Trying to keep costs down as much as possible - already have windows/kb/mouse etc.

Any issues with the spec below?

I doubt anyone will notice the difference between 2133MHz and 2400MHz memory on a childs gaming PC, I also wonder if you would have to manually set the memory to 2400Mhz with that motherboard as it states (OC) at that point.

You would also most likely get away with a lower wattage PSU, but at those price points it actually works out more expensive.

The full ATX case is also going to be rather imposing, Silverstones MicroATX cases are pretty small, as is Fractal's Core 1000. Without too many places for a child to stick anything inside the case, and filtered.

I also find 1tb HDD's to be rather cumbersome and quirky for an OS drive these days, prefering a 500gb but the cost comparison between 500gb and 1tb is a joke. The kid may never use 1tb, maybe even a single SSD would be better.
My 9 yr old has been fine with a 120gb SSD only because he only plays a few games and never downloads anything, though I would rather he had more capacity. But it can be upgraded anytime, and these days I can get 250gb of SSD for less than his original 120gb cost.

Below I have given a couple of alternative options, mainly because the CPU and motherboard you state are out of stock, and from what I see, the better CPU is only £5 more, the lower priced CPU has the same GPU?

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £391.03
(includes shipping: £11.10)

Thing to remember is, putting together the cheapest components at this price point, including 1600MHz memory, is really not going to be a major issue or that detrimental an experience for a child playing games like Minecraft. You may well get it below £250 and find it works more than well enough for a couple of years, at which point better components will be available for less and outperform it.

An Intel alternative. (Though at £99 an Nvidia 950 would be an even better GPU)

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £289.60
(includes shipping: £11.70)
