Looking for a budget gaming system for around £500, has to be able to play recent/future games comfortably. HDD isnt needed as i've got a spare 120GB laying about, also a monitor would be a bonus!

Spec away fellas.

Had a bash myself (mind you ive been out of the system for a while):

Bundle package:

- Intel Core 2 DUO LGA775 E6300 1.86GHz Retail.
- Gigabyte 965P DS3.
- 1GB GeIL PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Kit.

- Akasa AK-P050FG8-BKUK 500W Green Power 80+.
- Akasa AK-ZEN-01-BK Zen Black Case - No PSU
- Asus GeForce 8600 GTS 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail.
- Asus DRW-1608P3S 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - Retail.

Total: £535.66 (including P&P).

Thoughts?

I would wait to see what the X2900XT/XTX is actually like before buying this PC, I know your on a budget, but for future games Its worth the extra :)

Just had a bash at AMD/ATi:

- AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ 2.40GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail.
- Abit KN9 nForce Ultra (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard.
- Corsair 1GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x512MB).
- Asus ATI Radeon X1950 Pro Crossfire 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail.
- Akasa AK-ZEN-01-BK Zen Black Case - No PSU.
- OcUK Huntkey 500W PSU.
- Dell E197FP 19" LCD Monitor - Black.

Total: £540.42 inc VAT.

Again, any thoughts?

What's the difference between Crossfire and non-crossfire? Excuse the stupidness ive been out the scene since XP 3200s were running the show!

You really want C2D!

How about...

& £500's to low to also include a monitor :( Would have to make a serious compromise.
