Hi all,

Friend of mum's was recommended a Surface Pro 8 by a highstreet retailer, but even with their black Friday deal, I worry it's a bit expensive for her needs so wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on alternatives?

Her needs are basic - MS Office type stuff and emails really. She does however have accessibility needs that make a touchscreen a must.

Price for the surface with keyboard cover is £700 so that's the "budget" but really, would be nice to come in under that.

Things like Lenovo's IdeaPad 3 or the HP Pavillion 15 look like they might be appropriate?

Thanks in advance

I'm also looking for something similar. I'm waiting to see what black Friday brings. Have you considered the Lenovo yoga series? I think some of the versions may be near you budget

I like the look of the yoga's personally and I know someone who had one and really enjoyed it, but I think in this instance, the 'hybrid' form factor would be of little value (despite the request for a touchscreen) as the end user has expressed a preference for a laptop not a tablet.
She tried an IdeaPad and liked it so will probably go in that direction
