This is my new TV unit / floating wall. I built this on a budget of around £100.

All the wood come from IKEA free trolleys, so basically old wardrobe doors/sides, side units etc.

The only bits i paid for was...

Lights (£30 from ikea)
Hinges (£6 from wickes)
Handles (old TV unit)
Screws (£5 from wickes)
3 x 2x3 lengths (£9 from wickes)
White L edging x 3 (£9 fron wickes)
Extension (£6 from b&m)
Wallpaper (£13 from b&m)
Wallpaper paste (£2 from b&m)

I already had long aerial and HDMI cables. So as you can see, it didn't cost a lot to build at all. Just 3 days of blood, sweat and tears !

Here is a few pictures of the build, to start with, the wall/unit before I started.

I drew up a little design on a free app from the play store.

Then proceeded to get on with the build!
What came out isn't exactly as the design above, a few changes was made along the way.

And that's it, all done

Total cost was under my budget, so I'm happy with that, its turned out ok, with basic DIY skills I don't think I did too bad.

Thanks for looking and have a nice evening :D

Nice build, congrats :)

Not heard of these before how do they work - obvs I can infer they're some sort of trolley full of odds and ends? Presumably you have to be buying other stuff in store to prevent ****** just coming along and learning them out?

Thanks :)

The one in Leeds, they are outside the exit doors and it's all free for anyone to take, customers or not :)
