Budget Upgrade

I'm looking for suggestions on a budget upgrade for my dad's PC. He's wanting to upgrade to Windows 11 since he says he's having issues with Windows 10 nagging about upgrading etc.

He basically only uses the PC for internet browsing, buying stuff online and other general office type stuff so he doesn't need a powerful machine. The current setup is an MSI B450M Pro VDH MAX motherboard with 8GB DDR4 and an AMD Ryzen 3 3200G

Ideally he would need a new motherboard & cpu to support Windows 11 and DDR4 since buying into DDR5 would make it much more expensive. He also doesn't need a separate GPU so the CPU would need to have onboard graphics.

It already supports 11, probably just needs to configure the bios.
Hmm I must have looked up the wrong thing before as I could have sworn it wasn't because of no TPM module. That would still mean having to do a BIOS update that I'm not sure I want to lol.

Relax. TPM is built into the CPU; it's called fTPM. And don't worry too much about a BIOS upgrade. Just make sure you don't have a power cut and aren't using Bitlocker. The only qualm I have is the 8 GB RAM but you can get 2x 4GB GB Corsair DIMMs for £39 or 1x 8 GB DIMM for £42 so it's a very cheap upgrade.

Thanks for the replies. I'll see about giving it a try later on and see how I go. I guess if I do break it I will need to buy new stuff anyway.

Also if you where going to go with new hardware. The best option would be AM5, it will be slightly higher cost due to the DDR5 Memory However, as AM4 has remained strong for the last 10 years, with the basic use requrements going AM5 Now will give you another hassle free 10 years
