I'm trying to plan out a budget wetroom setup for my mother. She has mobility issues so it's gotta be a wetroom with grab rails, a shower seat etc. The installer suggested 5m of Hydro panels but they seem very expensive. Are tiles cheaper but you pay more in labour costs or are they're better value shower wall panels?

Have you looked into getting your Mum an OT assessment?
You'll need to go through her local authority/Social Care department, who will make an assessment based on her care needs. If eligible (not always means-tested), they would foot the bill of adaptations (wider doorways, ramps, accessible kitchen units/worktops, even ground floor wet rooms or changes to upstairs bathroom).

Costs nothing to find out:

No never considered that I'll have to do some research, that might save some money. Cheers.

for floor - have you really ruled out a cheaper? low profile shower tray , although parent had wet room - with a fixed acrlyic panel + door panel sectioning it off ~1mx1.5m,
. a low profile lipped tray would have been just as good, and stopped some water needlessly moving into rest of room.
(+ grab handles put on tiled walls and a alu moveable stool )
Yeah unfortunately her mobility has gotten worse recently, I think she's better off taking her walker into the bathroom and she's even thinking maybe a wheelchair eventually.
