Budget Windows Tablet's

Ive just received an x16 power seems nice so far. They didn't send me the keyboard case with it though so I'm just chasing that up.

I ordered it from gearbest, got the first run of them when they were released, just chasing up the keyboard case as I can't really use it without it properly it, just got it propped up and using a wireless keyboard at the moment to set everything up I need on it, it seems snappy enough but I haven't really stressed it enough, may run some tests on it.

The Techtablets website does seem like a good resource for Chinese tablets.

My ideal tablet at present would be a Surface 3 with better storage performance. Whilst intriguing, the Chinese Windows tablets seem to have significant shortcomings. I guess that is made up for by their prices, which appear to be waaaaay below those of Microsoft and Lenovo etc.

I'm certainly interested in hearing feedback!

Yeah, I hope the guy keeps it up. I agree, there is just enough to hold me back, but then I think I might be expecting way too much at the price point.

Improve the cooling on the 14nm atoms, scratch resistant screen coating, usb 3/c, wifi AC, little more storage, better standby power drain and overall battery life. I reckon over the next year they will resolve/add enough of those that it will be an easy purchase decision whatever remaining shortcomings.

I agree but thats not a deal breaker for me. Onedrive pretty much handles everything I want. Also have one of those Sandisk connect devices if ever I needed to take more with me.

I am not a user of Teclast but I read some reviews over internet of real users. It seems to that this product is quite good.

Yeah 16gb is a worry, plenty of people who have 16gb Windows tablets from Linx or whoever are either having to do a fair bit of work to update to the latest Win 10 build or some just cannot do it as there is no free space to download and install the update.

The mi pad 2 only comes in the 64gb variety not 16gb.

I'm keeping my eye on this for xbox one streaming - The only negatives I can see are no SD slot and the USB C doesn't appear to have the HDMI enabled (See the techtablets review of the android version).

A USB Type-C hub might help with the deficiencies of the Mi Pad 2 in terms of storage and connectivity. However, they don't appear to be cheap, and the Android version doesn't output over USB Type-C to HDMI at present from what I have read. I would hope the Windows version would!

It does look like a quality bit of kit. Not necessarily budget though!

Just checked the spec. of the Windows 10 version of the XiaoMi Mi Pad 2 on http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_268674.html which says "Mi Pad 2 the new USB Type-C port with its transmission speed 10 times faster than the traditional USB2.0. The USB plug is reversible. You can connect it to the phone in whichever way you want."

Although not perhaps strictly a budget tablet, it is starting to look like a good replacement for my old Nexus 7 which has being playing up a bit recently, and as I have been looking for a Windows alternative; perhaps this could be it!

Edit: Having now read a few reviews, I am prepared to place a pre-order for one, but am not really sure which sellers can be trusted!
Are 'Gearbest.com' any good for example... has anyone any experience of their service?
