I can't seem to get the guy to drop down or leave, and I have a feeling my tapping on the screen may have squashed him

I have a IIYAMA W2200 22" monitor (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp... E2201W-B2 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black), is there anyway to open the front protective screen and just wipe him away? I have contacted Iiyama warranty about it, and am anticipating them not replacing it so may need to open it, but I can't seem find anyway of opening it or any guidelines anywhere about how to open it

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

you shouldn't tap the screen, but the sides of the monitor (gently!) to get him to move.

But if as you say he's stuck there squished and Iiyama wont help then opening may be the only move. Either that or pay for an Iiyama authorised repair.

Hmmm I will wait for their warranty guys to get back to me, but I might have to pay to get it sorted out its driving me mental

There were a billion trillion cases of this in the summer of 2006, I'm suprised there aren't many this year :\

Monitor REALLY FINE filters For The Win! ;) (just messing) (bring on the dust clogging the filters up though lol)

Iiyama are excellent with customer service, bugs shouldnt be able to get in so id say you have a good case.

If they say no, tell them the monitor is faulty and they will send a new one anyway.

Remember monitor manufacturers don't provide a "new" replacement it'll be a refurbished monitor returned previously by someone else and sometimes the refurbished monitor is in good condition but more often it's a lot older than your monitor and could have a few blemmishes you wouldn't be happy with.

For the sake of a bug in the screen it might not be advisable to take the refurbished monitor gamble.

I had one in yesterday and today. It's gone now though, but I don't know for how long. lol. It's amazing how they find a way in. :D

I haven't seen any for a few weeks but previously to that had 3 die inside the panel but luckily after a few days I flicked at the screen near where they were located and they dropped out of sight.

Gotta be careful flicking the screen though so do so at your own risk! :)

It's probably not a good idea to tap or flick or whatever the screen at it's location. Better to do it to the side of it so as not to squash it. It's unlikely to have a good grip of the screen so maybe after a few days of it being dead a slight flick to the side of it should make it drop. Also it's unlikely you've squashed it unless you used excessive force.
