Could do with some advice here. I bought a HIS 4870x2 in August last year, which I believe had a one year warranty. I have just put in into a new build PC with a Core I7 920 and a Gigabyte UD3R mobo and it initially worked fine. After about 1-2weeks of being in the new build I started getting hard locks in windows with artifacts and corruption being displayed at post and bios straight after. The pc would then not load windows with a blue screen blaming ATI drivers.

Is there a known issue with these mobo's and these cards? I've put a 9600GT in had lying around and all is well again, which rules out the rest of my hardware.

Have HIS been known to be lenient when it comes to ths stuff?

I'm gutted the card has died as the 5800's are out of stock, and I was hoping to see Nvidias efforts before I made my choice. Oh well, does anybody know when the 5870's will be back in stock?

It looks like I'm gonna have to get the lube out and bend over.......

I have the same video card as you and am now crossing my fingers that mine doesn't die soon though my warranty expires very soon anyway so oh well.
I haven't heard much in the way of positive or negative comments about HIS rma, in fact I've heard little at all.

All the HIS cards on the site now (5800 series) seem to have 2 years warranty. Might be worth double checking that warranty length.

I've put a technical support request in so hopefully I'll hear something from them.

On a side note the 9600GT runs Left 4 Dead 2 pretty well, which is my latest flava so I may be set for a while.
