Uh oh...

I just had a urge to look at some Ducati sites to look at pricing for new superbikes...

I really, REALLY want a 1198 SP :(

Think I would still keep my 748 though...

Oh jesus, what have I done, I have several tabs open as I am researching financing already lol.

Bugger :(

Haha good old Rapido, take it easy I dread to think what their test ride excess is, I'm getting a test ride on the new ZX6R from Crescent Bursledon soon and thats a £1k excess!

I got my GSXF in June and already have an urge to try new bikes!

The new MV F3 looks fantastic. However the two problems are that it's a lot of money and it's not out yet! :(

I have had my current 748 for over 2 years, it has had it's engine totally re built by Richard and Chris at Louigi Moto, they did a simply awe inspiring job, I have kitted the bike out with all bells and whistles but it's really starting to show it's age.

Parts are rusting faster than I can replace and it's performance in the top speed is not that great, be lucky if I pushed 160 out of it... The torque is still lots of fun though!

The engine rebuild was £2k> alone! So a lot of money has been spent on the bike (in fact, more than I paid for the bloody thing!). But like I said, it has a place in my heart which cannot be replaced sadly. So will never get rid of it.

The only options I have, is to keep the 748 and do it up slowly whilst having a new 1198 SP to play with, or spend another couple of thousand on the 748 and truly restore it to former glory. But that still leaves it lacking in the top speed depeartment...

Not sure :(

Hah! Similarly, I found myself on a k1300s yesterday all day whilst the f800 was being serviced. I need a k1300s. It is simply excellent*!

*in isolation, having ridden nothing comparable and loving BMW bikes at the moment.

848.... done ;)

Although appealing, wet clutch... I know, it's an odd thing, but I am a Ducati fanboy and need to hear that bag of bolts!

I did consider it for a while, and after seeing a mate have one, I was almost sold.

But, if it were to be an upgrade to a new bike, it will either be a very smart second hand 1098 S or a brand spankers 1198 SP...

The 1098 S is much more financially feasable.

However, I am a big kid and I want the best toy :P

When I go to Moto Rapido this weekend, I will have a chat and see what sort of trade in price my old girl is worth, if it's acceptable, I could be walking away with a new bike! They will have to seriously come up with a deal of the century to part me from my old girl though. If I got £3500+ for it part ex, I would be happy, any less then the new bike would have to come with termi's and a 6,000 and 12,000 mile free service.

You should get a decent deal on 1198's even the Corse version due to the 1199 Panigale being released next month

Guess what I have a deposit down on :D:D

Nom nom nom...

What a stonking day yesterday!

Sadly, nothing put down as of yet as they offered £1500 for my bike!!! That was due to the body work not being in the best of shape (in comparison to most lounge living Ducati's... I ride mine like I stole it all the time, and it shows lol).

Anyway, I test rode a Diavel and a 1198...

Oh dear mother of god, first off, spent 20 mins on the Big D... That machine is pure fun pulling from lights, the torque just chews up the road. Very comfy to ride, however, couldn't help feel I was on a Harley sports wannabe...

The 1198, well... Anyone ever had a moment where you just go a little insane in your helmet? Laughing like a mad man from pure adrenaline and excitement... I get it some times on the 748 when I give it the beans from time to time. But this, jesus, I couldn't stop!

The bike is so ****ing fast it's unreal! Obviously I would never try to break the speed limit, so if I were... 130 is simply a starter course for this beast! The front felt very light... Suspension would deffo need to be adjusted, felt as though it had nothing on the front end so made for cornering a bit skeptical for me. Not much feedback.

Other than that, I am sold, I have got a whole bunch of details on the 1198 SP in terms of finance and they also agreed they would include a full termi system if I were to purchase before March next year :D SP

So... Guess what I will be buying for my bday in February next year :D

CAN NOT WAIT!!!

Will be keeping my 748 though... The old girl has a grip on my heart and I cant pry it!

EDIT: I hope my brand spanking new Pazzo levers fit on the 1198... Otherwise I will have to spend another £150 on another set of pazzo's, don't think I can use originals after owning pazzo's :(
